July 8, 2009 The Fenway Institute in Partnership with the Multicultural AIDS Coalition has Launched Project S.O.S. Study to Address Alarmingly High Rates of HIV Infection in Black Men Who have Sex with Men
The Fenway Institute in partnership with the Multicultural AIDS Coalition has launched Project S.O.S. (Saving OurSelves), the Boston site of a national research study designed to address high rates of HIV infection among Black men who have sex with men (MSM), who currently have the highest rates of HIV acquisition among any minority ethnic and racial group of MSM in the United States. Four hundred Black MSM from the greater Boston area will be followed over the next two years. Read more.

Dr. Cheryl Healton, the President & CEO of the American Legacy Foundation, will deliver the keynote address at the 2009 LGBTQ Tobacco Summit at 9 a.m. on June 9 at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel, 340 North Third Street, Phoenix, AZ. She will open the conference, which will be attended by activists, public health officials and others from across the country interested in addressing tobacco’s impact on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) people.
