Current Open Positions

 

PHYSICIAN - HIV AND GAY MEN’S HEALTH
The physician will provide outpatient care five days a week. Overnight call occurs about one week out of every twelve and entails coverage of the practice’s hospitalized patients at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center during the specified call weekend. He/she will provide direct medical services to the full range of FH patients, including conducting exams, ordering tests, prescribing medication and formulating treatment plans.

Other typical duties include providing preventive health care advice and psychosocial screening and assessment.  There may be the opportunity to supervise mid-level practitioners, medical residents and/or medical students; and to contribute to community-based research initiatives. The physician will be expected to maintain full medical licensure in MA, controlled substance licensure in MA, a federal DEA license, and AAHIVM certification.

Requirements:

  • M.D. or D.O. degree, current Massachusetts license, board certification (in infectious disease, internal medicine, or family practice) required;
  • Specific interest in HIV/AIDS care and gay men’s health required;
  • Minimum 3 years experience in treating people living with HIV/AIDS required;
  • Interest in LGBT health highly desirable.
  • Experience working in an ethnically, culturally, and racially diverse environment preferred
  • Ability to work harmoniously with diverse groups of individuals required

 

PART-TIME SUBSTITUTE ACUPUNCTURIST IN THE ACUPUNCTURE DETOXIFICATION PROGRAM
Under the supervision of the Senior Acupuncturist, the Substitute Acupuncturist provides acupuncture treatments and assessment of patients during scheduled acupuncture detoxification clinics.

Typical duties include: providing an initial screening to determine contraindications to acupuncture treatment; consulting with nursing staff regarding medical screenings; and providing acupuncture treatments, adhering to acupuncture protocols.

Additional duties include providing all necessary clinical and administrative documentation; preparing the clinic for treatments and restocking supplies as needed; and maintaining acupuncture license and CEU requirements.

Requirements:

  • Licensure in acupuncture required
  • Certificate by the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of postgraduate experience as an acupuncturist preferred
  • Previous experience with substance abuse population desired

NOTE: Position is on-call when current Acupuncturists are unavailable.  Shifts to be covered are Tuesday and Thursday, 4:30 – 6:30.  Occasional coverage of other shifts is possible.

 

DENTAL ASSISTANT
The Dental Assistant is responsible for assisting the dentists and dental hygienist in the direct provision of primary care dental services to patients.  The Dental Assistant will be responsible for greeting patients and preparing them for treatment. 

Typical duties will include but are not limited to: sterilization of dental instruments, chair side assisting, laboratory communication, inventory control of dental instruments and supplies, electronic dental charting, digital radiography, and providing assistance during specialty procedures such as oral surgery, periodontal surgeries, and endodontics.  The Dental Assistant may also assist in front end operations as needed.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Knowledge of word processing, patient record management, DENTRIX software, and dental terminology
  • Current CPR (BLS) certification
  • Dental Assistant Certification from an accredited MA dental assisting program
  • Radiology Certification
  • Minimum of 3 years dental assisting experience

 

REGISTERED NURSE
The Registered Nurse will serve as part of a multidisciplinary team in a stimulating primary care setting. 

Duties include providing telephone triage and case management, documenting patient activity in the electronic medical record, providing wound care, administering medications/vaccines, and participating in team meetings.

Requirements:

  • MA RN license
  • BLS certification
  • IV insertion/phlebotomy skills
  • Minimum 2 years experience in an ambulatory care setting preferred
  • BSN, experience with HIV patients (e.g., ANAC certification) and electronic medical records, as well as a commitment to community health and an interest in LGBT health are all strongly preferred
  • Ability to work harmoniously with diverse groups of individuals required
  • Experience working in an ethnically, culturally, and racially diverse environment preferred

 

CLIENT SERVICES COORDINATOR
This is a highly visible position, with extensive patient contact, both in person and by telephone. Typical duties include but are not limited to: providing excellent customer service to all clients; managing client phone calls and inquires; scheduling appointments; coordinating patient registration and documentation; obtaining accurate insurance eligibility information; and performing data entry. 

Requirements

  • Minimum of high school graduate or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years office experience
  • Computer experience necessary
  • Ability to work harmoniously with diverse groups of individuals
  • Experience working in an ethnically, culturally, and racially diverse environment preferred
  • Successful customer service experience
  • Experience receiving and reconciling payments preferred
  • Familiarity with obtaining medical referrals and insurance authorizations desirable
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

STAFF ASSISTANT - PART TIME
(20 Hours per week)
Under the supervision of the Operations and Triage Manager, the Staff Assistant provides administrative support to the Behavioral Health, Addiction Services and Health Promotion Department.

Typical Duties include: Inputting client data into computerized reports to meet funding agency requirements; providing back up coverage for triage line and psychopharmacology line; coordinating paperwork required by clients to obtain insurance coverage for prescriptions or to apply for financial assistance; providing triage backup for intake screening and referrals; and making and documenting client appointments in the Medical Manager and Centricity systems.

Additional duties include: Managing the timesheets process (including collecting data and applying payment formulas); overseeing purchase order payment and supply ordering; coordinating the provider credentialing process; providing administrative support to department training coordinator for monthly in-service trainings; and keeping and disseminating minutes for all departmental administrative meetings.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years office experience
  • Excellent computer and telephonic skills (Microsoft Windows and Excel experience preferred)
  • Previous customer service experience in healthcare setting preferred
  • Ability to work harmoniously with diverse groups of individuals
  • Experience working in an ethnically, culturally, and racially diverse environment preferred
